Amazon A+ Content Guide: Examples & Mistakes

Amazon A+ Content helps brand-registered sellers improve their Amazon product detail pages with enhanced images, informative content, comparison charts and brand storytelling. This guide explains Amazon A+ Content examples, modules, design tips and common mistakes Indian sellers should avoid.

Amazon A+ Content helps eligible sellers and brand owners enhance product detail pages with additional images, structured text, comparison charts, technical information, and brand storytelling. It allows businesses to explain product features more clearly and address common customer questions.

For Indian sellers competing in categories such as home and kitchen, beauty, electronics, fashion, and personal care, A+ Content can be useful for presenting product information in a more organized and engaging way.

However, simply adding attractive graphics is not enough. Content should be informative, mobile-friendly, accurate, and compliant with Amazon's guidelines.

In this guide, you will learn what Amazon A+ Content is, how it works, which modules to use, practical examples, common mistakes, and how to create content that helps customers make informed purchase decisions.

1. What Is Amazon A+ Content?

Amazon A+ Content is a feature that allows eligible sellers and brand owners to enhance product detail pages with additional visual and written information.

It was previously known as Enhanced Brand Content (EBC).

Instead of relying only on the standard product description, sellers can use structured content modules to explain product benefits, display lifestyle images, provide technical details, and communicate their brand story.

Depending on the available content type and eligibility, A+ Content may include:

  • Product feature banners
  • Lifestyle images
  • Image and text combinations
  • Technical specification sections
  • Product comparison charts
  • Brand Story modules
  • Videos and interactive elements in Premium A+

Where does A+ Content appear?

A+ Content appears within the product detail page, generally below the main product information and description area.

Customers can scroll down to explore additional product information, images, and brand-related content.

Its purpose is to answer questions that may not be fully covered by the standard product title, bullet points, and image gallery.

Why is A+ Content useful for sellers?

A well-planned A+ page can help sellers:

  1. Explain product features in greater detail.
  2. Show how a product can be used.
  3. Communicate technical specifications.
  4. Address common customer questions.
  5. Present a consistent brand identity.
  6. Compare different products within their own brand.
  7. Help customers understand the product before ordering.

A+ Content is primarily a product-page communication and conversion tool. It should not be treated as a guaranteed method of improving organic search rankings or sales.

2. Types of Amazon A+ Content

Amazon offers different content formats for eligible sellers and brands. Understanding their purpose helps you choose the right format for your product.

A. Basic A+ Content

Basic A+ Content allows eligible sellers to enhance product descriptions using structured text and image modules.

Common elements include:

  • Product feature images
  • Image and text layouts
  • Technical specification tables
  • Brand logos
  • Product comparison charts

Example: A seller offering a stainless-steel water bottle can use Basic A+ Content to explain its capacity, material, lid design, cleaning instructions, and suitable use cases.

This format is useful for brands that want to provide more information without creating a highly interactive product page.

B. A+ Brand Story

Brand Story is a separate section that helps sellers communicate their brand identity and background.

It focuses on the brand rather than explaining only one product.

You can use it to communicate:

  • How the brand started.
  • What the brand focuses on.
  • Its product range.
  • Its values and manufacturing approach, where accurate.
  • Other products available under the same brand.
  • Links to eligible brand products or the Amazon Storefront through supported modules.

Example: An Indian skincare brand could use its Brand Story to explain its product philosophy, range of skincare products, and the type of customers it serves.

Brand Story and product-level A+ Content can complement each other, but they have different purposes.

C. Premium A+ Content

Premium A+ Content offers additional interactive and visual modules for brands that meet Amazon's eligibility requirements.

Depending on the available modules, Premium A+ can include:

  • Larger image sections
  • Video modules
  • Interactive image hotspots
  • Clickable image or video carousels
  • Enhanced comparison charts
  • Question-and-answer sections

Example: A premium kitchen appliance brand could use a video to demonstrate how its product works, hotspots to highlight important components, and a comparison table to explain differences between its own models.

Premium A+ is not automatically available to every seller. Access depends on Amazon's current eligibility conditions and the notification displayed in A+ Content Manager.

3. Who Is Eligible for Amazon A+ Content?

A+ Content is not available to every seller automatically.

Amazon's published guidance generally requires an eligible selling account and an appropriate relationship with a brand enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry. Amazon's eligibility guidance also refers to eligible generic products in certain circumstances.

The exact access available to your account should be checked in Seller Central.

Basic A+ eligibility

Before creating content, check:

  • Whether your selling account is eligible.
  • Whether your brand is enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry, where required.
  • Whether your account has the appropriate brand representative or reseller role.
  • Whether the product ASIN is eligible for A+ Content.
  • Whether any existing retail contribution or catalog restriction prevents you from adding content.

Premium A+ eligibility

Amazon's published Premium A+ eligibility announcement lists two important requirements:

  1. A Brand Story must be published on all brand-owned product listings.
  2. At least five A+ Content projects must have been approved and published within the previous 12 months.

Once the brand meets the applicable criteria, Amazon enables Premium A+ access in A+ Content Manager and displays an eligibility notification.

Important: Do not rely on old advice claiming that you need 12 or 15 A+ submissions. Check Amazon's latest eligibility announcement and the notification inside your account.

4. How to Create Amazon A+ Content Step by Step

Once your account and product are eligible, you can create A+ Content through Seller Central.

Follow this general process:

Step 1: Open A+ Content Manager

Log in to Amazon Seller Central.

Navigate to:

Advertising → A+ Content Manager

The exact navigation label may vary with the Seller Central interface.

Step 2: Start a new content project

Select the option to start creating A+ Content.

Depending on your eligibility, you may see options such as:

  • Basic A+ Content
  • Premium A+ Content
  • Brand Story

Choose the content type that matches your objective.

Step 3: Select the ASIN

Search for the product ASIN to which you want to apply the content.

Before proceeding, verify:

  • Product name
  • Brand
  • Product category
  • ASIN
  • Existing content status

If you manage multiple products, plan which ASINs can share the same content and which need individual layouts.

Step 4: Select the modules

Choose modules according to the information you want to communicate.

For example:

ModuleRecommended purposeBrand bannerIntroduce the product or brandImage with textExplain important featuresTechnical specificationsDisplay product measurements and detailsLifestyle imageShow the product in useComparison chartCompare products within your own rangeQ&AAnswer common product-related questions, if available

Do not add modules simply to make the page longer. Every section should answer a customer question or explain something useful.

Step 5: Upload images and add text

Prepare your images and content before uploading.

Check that:

  • Images clearly show the product.
  • Product features are accurately represented.
  • Text is readable on mobile devices.
  • Image alt text describes the image.
  • No prohibited claims or promotional information is included.
  • You have the necessary rights to use all images and content.

Step 6: Apply the content to the ASIN

Review the product selection and confirm that the content is assigned to the correct ASINs.

If the same content is relevant to multiple eligible products, use the available bulk application options carefully.

Step 7: Preview and submit

Use the preview option to check the desktop and mobile versions.

Review the entire layout for:

  • Incorrect product images
  • Cropped text
  • Spelling mistakes
  • Inaccurate specifications
  • Missing alt text
  • Inconsistent branding
  • Policy violations

Submit the content for Amazon's review.

Step 8: Monitor approval and publication

Check the project status in A+ Content Manager.

Amazon's India help documentation explains that submitted content goes through a validation process before it appears on the product detail page.

If content is rejected, review the rejection reason, make the required changes, and resubmit.

5. Amazon A+ Content Examples for Different Product Categories

A+ Content should be planned according to the product. A layout that works for an electronic appliance may not be suitable for a skincare product or a fashion accessory.

Here are practical examples for Indian sellers.

Example 1: Home and Kitchen Product

Product: Stainless-Steel Water Bottle

A useful A+ Content layout could include:

SectionWhat to showOpening bannerProduct image with its main purposeFeature sectionMaterial, capacity, lid and construction detailsLifestyle imageBottle being used at a desk or during travelSpecification tableCapacity, dimensions, material and care instructionsComparison chartDifferences between your own bottle models

Sample heading: Designed for Everyday Hydration

Sample supporting text: A stainless-steel water bottle designed for everyday use, with a practical lid and easy-to-carry form. Refer to the product specifications for capacity, material and care details.

Only include features that are true for the actual product.

Example 2: Skincare Product

Product: Face Serum

A skincare brand can use A+ Content to explain how the product fits into a skincare routine.

SectionWhat to showOpening bannerProduct packaging and brand identityIngredient sectionAccurate ingredient informationUsage sectionHow and when to apply the productTexture imageProduct texture and packaging detailsSpecification sectionNet quantity, ingredients and usage directions

Sample heading: A Clearer View of Your Skincare Routine

Sample supporting text: Explore the product's listed ingredients, texture, application directions and packaging details to understand how it fits into your skincare routine.

Avoid unsupported medical, therapeutic, or guaranteed-result claims. Cosmetic and health-related claims may require appropriate substantiation and must comply with applicable regulations and Amazon policies.

Example 3: Fashion Product

Product: Women's Printed Kurta

For fashion products, visual presentation is particularly important.

A useful layout could include:

  • A lifestyle image showing the kurta being worn.
  • A close-up of the print and fabric.
  • Details about neckline, sleeves and fit.
  • Product measurements and size guidance.
  • Care instructions.
  • A comparison of other kurta styles from the same brand.

Sample heading: Everyday Style with Thoughtful Details

Sample supporting text: Explore the printed design, neckline, sleeve style and fabric details of this women's kurta. Review the available size information and care instructions before selecting your preferred variant.

Do not use misleading images or show design features that are not present in the actual product.

Example 4: Electronic Product

Product: Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

Electronics customers often need technical details before purchasing.

A useful A+ layout could include:

SectionInformationMain bannerProduct and key use caseFeature sectionSupported connectivity and controlsSpecification chartDimensions, weight and battery detailsUsage imageProduct shown in a suitable environmentCompatibility sectionSupported devices and connection detailsComparison chartDifferences between your own speaker models

Avoid making unsupported performance, battery-life, waterproofing, or compatibility claims.

6. How to Design High-Converting Amazon A+ Content

Good A+ Content should make product information easier to understand.

A visually attractive design is useful, but the content should also be structured around customer questions.

1. Start with the customer's main question

Before designing the page, identify what a customer needs to know.

For example:

  • What makes this product different?
  • What material is it made from?
  • How do I use it?
  • What size or capacity should I choose?
  • What is included in the package?
  • Is it compatible with my device?

Use these questions to plan your modules.

2. Maintain a balance between images and text

Images should attract attention, while text should explain the product.

Avoid creating a page that contains only large graphics with very little useful information.

A good module should have:

  • One clear purpose.
  • A relevant product image.
  • A short heading.
  • Concise supporting information.
  • Accurate product details.

3. Use high-quality product photography

Use images that help customers understand the product.

Depending on the category, consider:

  • Product close-ups
  • Lifestyle photography
  • Material or texture details
  • Product-in-use images
  • Dimensions and feature illustrations

Use professional-quality visuals and ensure that important details remain clear on mobile screens.

4. Use a consistent brand identity

Maintain consistency in:

  • Brand colours
  • Typography
  • Image style
  • Tone of voice
  • Product presentation
  • Visual spacing

The design should feel like it belongs to the brand rather than a collection of unrelated promotional banners.

5. Explain benefits with specific information

Avoid vague statements such as:

  • Premium quality
  • Best product
  • Amazing design
  • Excellent performance

Instead, explain actual product features.

For example:

Generic: High-quality storage container.

More useful: A transparent food-storage container with a stated capacity of 1 litre, designed to help organize dry kitchen ingredients.

The second version gives customers specific information they can evaluate.

6. Make mobile readability a priority

Many shoppers browse Amazon on mobile devices.

Therefore:

  • Use readable text sizes.
  • Avoid overcrowded images.
  • Keep paragraphs short.
  • Do not place important information in tiny graphics.
  • Preview the entire page on mobile.
  • Ensure that images remain understandable when resized.

7. Use comparison charts carefully

Comparison charts are useful when you sell multiple related products.

For example, a kitchen brand could compare three of its own storage-container models by:

  • Capacity
  • Dimensions
  • Material
  • Lid type
  • Package quantity

Keep comparisons accurate and limited to products within your own brand. Amazon's A+ policy does not allow competitor comparisons.
