Compliance Checklist

What Documents Are Required for a Meesho Seller Account?

Here's the complete checklist — have these ready before you start to avoid rejection and delays.

GST Certificate

Mandatory for most categories. Your GSTIN must be active and linked to your business name. Some categories (like books) may be exempt — check with Meesho's category team.

PAN Card

Business PAN (for proprietorship, partnership, or company). The name on your PAN must match your GST certificate and bank account.

Bank Account Details

A current account in your business name with IFSC code. Meesho transfers payments directly to this account — savings accounts work for sole proprietors but current accounts are preferred.

Address Proof

Business address proof — electricity bill, rent agreement, or utility bill not older than 60 days. Must match the address on your GST certificate.

Cancelled Cheque

A cancelled cheque or bank passbook copy showing your account number, IFSC, and name — used to verify your bank account for payouts.

Brand Authorization (if applicable)

If you're selling branded products, you need a brand authorization letter or invoice from the brand/manufacturer. Not required for unbranded or self-manufactured products.

Product Images

At least 3-5 clear product images per SKU — white background for main image, lifestyle/infographic images optional but recommended for better conversion.

Digital Signatures

Digital signature certificate (DSC) may be required for certain categories or if you're registering as a company/LLC. Proprietorships typically don't need this.

⚠️ The #1 Rejection Reason

Your business name must match exactly across your GST certificate, PAN card, and bank account. Even a single character difference (like "Kumar" vs "Kumar ") will cause rejection. Double-check all three before submitting.

Meesho Registration — Step by Step

The complete process from account creation to your first sale.

1
Create Meesho Supplier Account
Go to supplier.meesho.com and click 'Start Selling'. Enter your phone number, verify with OTP, and create your supplier account. This takes 5 minutes.
2
Submit Business Details
Enter your business name, GST number, PAN, bank account details, and pickup address. Meesho verifies your GSTIN against the government database — make sure it's active.
3
Document Verification
Upload your GST certificate, PAN card, bank proof, and address proof. Meesho's team reviews and verifies documents — typically takes 24-48 hours.
4
Category Approval
Select your product categories. Some categories (like electronics, food, health) require additional approvals or licenses. Meesho will notify you if extra documentation is needed.
5
Create Your First Catalog
Once approved, create your first product catalog. Upload images, write titles and descriptions, set pricing, and publish. Your product goes live within a few hours.
6
Set Up Pickup & Logistics
Meesho handles logistics through its courier partners. Configure your pickup address and ready-to-ship preferences. You don't need a separate courier arrangement.

Common Registration Mistakes to Avoid

These are the mistakes that cause rejections, delays, and lost sales for new Meesho sellers.

GST Mismatch

The most common rejection reason — your business name on GST, PAN, and bank account must match exactly. Even a small spelling difference causes rejection.

Poor Product Images

Meesho rejects listings with low-quality images, non-white backgrounds, or watermarks. Invest in professional product photography before listing.

Wrong Category Selection

Listing in the wrong category kills discoverability. Research where your competitors are listed before choosing your category.

No Return Policy Understanding

Meesho's return policy is buyer-friendly — returns are a major cost. Understand the return rules before pricing your products.

Underpricing for Profit

Many new sellers price too low to win orders, then lose money to returns and shipping. Factor in Meesho's shipping fee and potential return costs before setting prices.
